Month: January 2021

Thank you to the Scarano brothers for the recent donation of blankets they made. We are always so impressed when young people use their time and talent to give back to their neighbors in need. Serving the community in Greater Lowell and Merrimack Valley!

Happy New Year from some of our volunteers and caseworkers. We reopen on Tuesday at 9am to clients, donations and volunteers.

Thank you to Demetra Danas and Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church Youth Association ( GOYA) for the generous donation of $200 in Market Basket gift cards. These gift cards will be appreciated by the clients that receive them during these difficult times. We love to see youth reaching out to help their community. Kids helping kids and families helping families is what makes our community special.

Yesterday we had a few special visitors on our first day back after our holiday break. Crystal’s 6 year old daughter Emily visited Mom at her new job, Tina’s daughter Audrey and one of our weekly volunteers Mel along with his two dogs. It’s rare that we get to see children at the warehouse anymore so it was a great treat to have two little girls visit on the same day. And Dianne is always thrilled to see any dogs visit! Thanks for stopping by.

Meet our new staff member Crystal Stewart. Crystal has been volunteering her skills managing our Instagram page and is now joining the wish team and taking over Tina’s job. Tina will be replacing Patty as Volunteer and Social Media Manager when she retires this month. Welcome to the Wish family Crystal, we hope you love it as much as we do!

Executive Director Alyce Moore talks about our upcoming online auction. We are looking for donations for the Valentine’s week auction and Alyce talks about the items she is donating. Take a look!

Jill is today’s super Saturday volunteer. She spent her time sorting and organizing incoming donations and helping Dianne and Lori get the warehouse organized after their holiday break.

This year among other things we learned how important it is to support local business. Staff member Tina did just that. She purchased some holiday treats from her favorite bakery Razzy’s in Billerica and also bought a gift certificate to donate to our Winter Wishes Open Your Heart online auction. Now someone else will have the chance to try some of their sweet treats in time for Valentine’s Day when they bid on the gift certificate during our auction. Audrey highly recommends their cake pops! Next time you are visiting your favorite local shop or restaurant pick up a gift card to donate toward our auction and help to support local businesses as well as the community we serve!

We will be having an online auction the week leading up to Valentine’s Day! At our “Winter Wishes Open Your Heart” auction, February 8th – 11th, there will be lots of auction items perfect for gift giving for your special Valentine! Stay tuned for more details on how to participate.

BUT FIRST, we need to collect items to sell on our auction!
