Magic of Christmas

Some of the grateful adults and children that received gifts thanks to you this holiday season. Wonderful to see their happy faces!

John Pellegrino and the Billerica fire stations collected toys for Christmas for children in need in Billerica. After they had filled all the need in their town they contacted Lori and asked if she could use the extras for our clients. Lori said absolutely and was given 4 bags of gifts including a bag from donor Brian Buck who was dropping off his donation. We are grateful for the community partnership we have with so many towns and organizations that share their surplus with us. All our clients benefit from the generosity.

During this extraordinary year of COVID-19, caseworkers wait in line, 6′ apart, with masks on, in order to pick out toys for their clients a few days before Christmas. Everything about this year has been different, but one thing that remained the same is the commitment of the many agencies we work with and their caseworkers to provide their clients with everything their families need. We see them go above and beyond everyday while still protecting their own health and that of their families. Serving their community.

Thank you from more of the many caseworkers and agencies that benefited from the Magic of Christmas project this year. We weren’t sure what to expect this year due to so many circumstances beyond everyone’s control. As usual our donors rose to the challenge and found a way to purchase and deliver thousands of gifts that went out to those in need in Greater Lowell and Merrimack Valley. You brought Christmas to over 4000 people this year and for that our partner agencies are extremely grateful!

Caseworkers from our partner agencies are picking up toys to be delivered to the last of their clients before Christmas. They are thrilled that they are able to help so many of their struggling clients this year. In a year like most of us have never known, donors have become clients and already struggling clients are in even greater need. We are so grateful for the tremendous support from our donors in spite of the pandemic. Our community cares!

Magic of Christmas gifts continue to go out to our partner agencies and their clients. Paula from Hart House picked up some of their family gifts this week in time to get them out to their clients before Christmas and Lori helped carry them out to her car while still maintaining a safe social distancing. They know how much these gifts will mean to their already struggling families.
