clothing need

Some of our regular volunteers are highlighting the basic items that we are most in need of this week. These items have been tough to keep in the warehouse. As soon as they’re donated, they go righ out to clients in need. We’re hoping to restock our shelves with these items so that the next clients to visit our warehouse will leave with everything that they need.

Baking pans, cookie sheets, large spoons, dish soap, laundry detergent pods, hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray, men’s shirts in sizes small and medium.

If you’ve any of these items to donate, please stop by the warehouse during our donation hours Tuesday-Saturday 9-2:45. Thank you for sharing, with friends, family, neighbors, and online groups who may have some kitchen items to spare.

Gloria is one of our terrific Tuesday volunteers. Today she spent her time sorting and organizing incoming donation and filling the client clothing bins. Here she is looking for coats for the days clients. We are still out of Women’s long sleeve tops in Size Medium and Large, Girls and Boys XL Sizes 14/16, 18/20 for our teen clients, hats and gloves for everyone and blankets. If you have any of these items in your closet not being worn we would be grateful to get them. Even one coat will be one more client who isn’t cold this winter.

We have just updated our clothing donation drop off process in order to streamline it. We have made the following changes – if you are donating only clothing or soft goods we are open to those donations Tuesday-Friday 9-2:30pm and Saturday 9-12:30pm, no appointment necessary. If you are donating other goods such as housewares and furniture we will continue to schedule those drop offs through our email donategoods@thewishproject.org. We are hopeful that this will make it easier for our donors to drop off their donations at their convenience.

One mom picked up clothing for her family. The man with her has been helping her family by translating, providing transportation and had already made several trips recently picking up furniture for her. This day they were back to get clothing. It’s wonderful to see someone who is making a difference in the lives of people in their community by offering his assistance. It’s just another example of people using their gifts and talents to help others. Thank you for helping us to support our clients by donating the items they need.
Urgent need from the warehouse – we are extremely low on women’s long sleeve tops, our bins are nearly empty! Every size needed from Small – 4X welcome. Linda is pictured next to one of our almost empty bins of clothes.
