donation drive

Thank you Andrea Budiu for collecting much needed toiletries for The Wish Project!

If you are a student looking to gain volunteer hours for school or church, and would be interested in an offsite opportunity, please email tina@thewishproject.org for more info.

It was a busy day at the dock on Saturday. All of these donations came with 2 sets of donors. Rachel and Jess, on the left, are 2 Wilmington High School students who collected donations. On the right the Moore family and their donations. We are grateful for the support of so many in our community to help their neighbors in need.

Thank you to the staff, students and families of Dutile Elementary School in Billerica for the awesome donation of hats and gloves for our clients. Our wonderful weekly volunteers Brenda and Mel are preparing to sort and distribute them to that days clients. We are so grateful to all our local schools that continue to support their neighbors in need and teach their students to serve their communities.

Thank you to Kristin Nelson and Lowell Catholic for the awesome donation of socks. New socks and underwear are some of the least donated items but most needed by our clients. Warm socks in winter help to keep the homeless population healthy against the elements. Thank you for inspiring your students to serve the community and be good neighbors!

Thank you to Kaitlyn Brennan for her KB Toy Train donation dropped off yesterday. She launched the event two weeks ago “Fill the KB Toy Train for the Magic of Christmas,” and so many people joined from all over (SC – PA – NY – NH – ME – MA) and either shipped or joined the local and safe drop-off yesterday morning (even in the rain). From donors dropping off, their packages, Kaitlyn in the “toy train” enroute to Wish, to her helpers unloading at the warehouse! Such a wonderful undertaking of so many people to help our community this holiday season, and it all started with one person and one idea, thanks Kaitlyn, we know our clients will be very grateful!

Thank you to Gateway Regional School District high school student Lily Dion for the awesome donation drive she dropped off recently. These basic items are so important to our clients who were already struggling before the pandemic started. We are grateful to our youth donors and schools for encouraging helping the community by reaching out to us and finding out our current needs and how they can help. If you would like to help out like Lily and earn community service hours for school, scouts or just to give back please email Tina at tina@thewishproject.org and she will be happy to talk to you about some options for holding a donation drive and our current needs.

Shout out to Cub Scout Pack 7 Lowell Ma for the awesome donation of clothing that they dropped off today. Their clothing drive will be so appreciated by the lucky families that receive warm winter clothing as a result. Another wonderful example of kids helping kids in our community and local organizations stressing service to others as part of their mission. #kidshelpingkids

Thank you to Chelmsford High School student Joshua Higgins for holding a collection drive to donate toothpaste and deodorant. These basic toiletries are so important to our clients who were already struggling before the pandemic started. We are grateful to our youth donors and schools for encouraging helping the community by reaching out to us and finding out our current needs and how they can help. If you would like to help out like Joshua and earn community service hours for school, scouts or just to give back please email Tina at tina@thewishproject.org and she will be happy to talk to you about some options for holding a donation drive and our current needs.

Thank you to Jennifer Picard for collecting donations from neighbors and dropping them off yesterday. We are so grateful for the support of so many neighboring communities to support our mission and our clients. These items will be very appreciated by the clients that receive them. We continue to need warm blankets, fall and winter clothing, hats and gloves, coats, diapers and baby wipes, formula and baby gear for our clients. If you have any of these items to donate and can drop off at the warehouse please email donategoods@thewishproject.org and Grace will get back to you Tuesday-Friday 9-3pm, Saturday 9-1pm to schedule a day and time for drop off.
