There’s been a baby boom! Caseworkers and moms have been coming to the warehouse to pick up newborn baskets, diapers, wipes, clothing, swings, gates, and all the other necessities that that they need to care for their new babies. The warehouse is now in need of pack and play sheets, baby gates, diaper bags, baby carriers, and baby swings. We are currently in need of the following clothing items- women’s long sleeve shirts in size large, men’s long sleeve shirts in size medium, boys long sleeve shirts in sizes 10-18, boys pjs in sizes 10-18.
A huge thank you to the Chelmsford Sathya Sai Center for their generous donation of our most needed items. Dee, Praveen, Kondal, and Chetan delivered three carloads of items as well as gift cards. These items will go right out to those in our community who need them. You can find out more about their organization and all that they do at www.Chelmsfordsaicenter.org
Regular volunteers Dawn and Vanna were working in the home goods section of the warehouse this weekend and discovered that we are in need of microwaves and lamps.
These bags contain puzzles, bubbles, crayons, a coloring book, a beach ball, tub toys, a book, and a new baby toy and are given to local families in need with small children. These parents are often not able to provide their children with age appropriate toys for stimulation, and these children are at a greater risk for developmental delay. Our goal is to give these bags to every family needing them to help aid in their children’s development. If you’re interested in getting involved with this project, email lori@thewishproject.org If you’re interested in donating items, or complete bags, you can drop off at the warehouse Tuesday-Saturday 9-2:45. We need baby coats!!! While pulling clothing for client orders this morning, Nancy discovered we are OUT of infant coats in sizes 0-12 months. When clients turn to us for these sizes, we have nothing to give them. If your babies have outgrown these sizes, and you would like to pass them on, we would appreciate your donation.
Carol is hard at work sorting client clothing, but she has been unable to find new packages of women’s underwear in size large. She’s hoping that someone will be able to donate a package or two, so that she can add them to client clothing orders.
Jill and regular volunteer Vanna Howard spent some time putting away clothing. They found that we are out of men’s long sleeve shirts in size small and almost out of men’s long sleeve shirts in size large. The next clients coming to us looking for these sizes may now have to leave without shirts. If you have any to donate, please stop by the warehouse Tuesday-Saturday 9-2:45. Be sure to fill out our online donation form prior to dropping off https://www.thewishproject.org/drop-off-donation-form/ If you prefer to shop online and have items shipped directly to the warehouse, please see our Amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/D0WB109LX427?ref_=wl_share
Thank you for sharing with friends, family, neighbors, and online groups that may have items that they wish to donate.
Many have reached out asking how they can help us help the families facing the aftermath of the recent house fires in Lowell. We are currently looking for gift cards to help the families with food, prescriptions, and items that we do not currently have in the warehouse. We are looking for gift cards to Market Bastet, Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and Visa. If you would like to donate, you can drop off items at the warehouse Tuesday-Saturday 9-2:45.
