winter needs

Board member Sue Smith picked up hats for House of Hope Inc. today. We are grateful to all our generous donors who donate warm winter items for our clients during the cold winter months. There are few things more basic than needing warm clothing. We know the clients that receive them will be very grateful for the extra layer of warmth.

Thank you to students Rachel Nally and Jess Hayduk from Wilmington High School for their community service project of collecting winter clothing and blankets for our clients. The support of students in our community to help their neighbors in need is a wonderful example of kids helping kids. Great job Rachel and Jess!

Sheri is one of our super Saturday volunteers. This day she spent her time sorting and organizing incoming donations and looking for winter coats to fill the coat racks. We are extremely grateful for the coats we have received so far. As soon the coats come in they go out with the next client. As every day gets cooler the demand for winter coats, adult hats and gloves gets greater. Most of our clients walk so they are looking for puffer style water resistant coats that they can wear in all weather. We need coats Sizes Small, Medium and Large for both men, women and teens as well as men’s and women’s hats and gloves. If you have any of these items to donate you can drop off Tuesday-Saturday 9-2:45pm. If you are donating furniture please call first to make sure we have the space or email donategoods@thewishproject.org. If you prefer to shop online we have an Amazon wish list where you can purchase our most needed items and ship direct to us https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/D0WB109LX427… . Thank you for helping us provide warm coats, hats and gloves to our neighbors in Greater Lowell!

Carol and Nancy are two of today’s fantastic Friday volunteers. Today they worked on filling the hats and gloves bins now that the temperatures are dropping. More families are looking for warm hats and gloves to bundle up as they walk to the grocery store. If you have any hats and gloves to spare and can drop off Tuesday-Friday 9-2:30 and Saturday 9-12:30pm, we know our clients would be very grateful. Many of our clients walk to the warehouse, pushing their children in strollers, without adequate clothing for the weather. When Lori see’s them arrive without coats, hats or mittens she outfits them as best she can with what we have on hand. Thank you for helping us provide warm hats and gloves to our neighbors in Merrimack Valley.
One client picked up basic items for her family. They received warm winter clothing last week. Essential items for our already struggling families. Thank you to our wonderful donors who continue to follow our needs and supply us with everything our clients need. We couldn’t do it without you!
Carol is one of our fantastic Friday volunteers. Today she spent her time searching for men’s long sleeve t-shirts in Size M and L to fill the client clothing bins. We are desperately low on both men’s and women’s long sleeve shirts in Size M and L to give out to the many clients who are reaching out to us for warm winter clothing. We also need teen clothing Size 14-18, boy’s clothes Size 2T, coats for the whole family, diaper bags, toasters and laundry soap. If you have any of these items to spare we would be grateful to get them. Even one item would be one less client who leaves without something on their wish list.

We have just updated our clothing donation drop off process in order to streamline it. We have made the following changes – if you are donating only clothing or soft goods we are open to those donations Tuesday-Friday 9-2:30pm and Saturday 9-12:30pm, no appointment necessary. If you are donating other goods such as housewares and furniture we will continue to schedule those drop offs through our email donategoods@thewishproject.org. We are hopeful that this will make it easier for our donors to drop off their donations at their convenience. If you prefer to shop online we have an Amazon wish list where you can purchase our most needed items and ship direct to us https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/D0WB109LX427… . One client picked up basic items for her family today. She received clothing for her child, diapers, baby wipes and a safety gate. We are grateful to all our awesome donors who have dropped off clothing, shared our posts and donated from our Amazon wish list. Without all your help it would never be possible to provide clothing to all the clients and partner agencies who request our assistance every year from Greater Lowell and Merrimack Valley.
Thank you to Brenda Nicolosi for the donation of clothing and shoes dropped off last week. At the moment we can’t get enough warm winter clothing for men, women, boys and girls. We need long sleeve shirts, jeans, sweats, leggings, sweatshirts, socks, pajamas, coats, hats and gloves for all ages and sizes. If you have any of these items to donate please email donategoods@thewishproject.org and Grace will get back to you Tuesday-Saturday 9-3pm to schedule a day and time for drop off. If you prefer to shop online we have an Amazon wish list where you can purchase our most needed items and ship direct to us https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/D0WB109LX427… .
