Board of Directors
Liana Kipp | President
Liana’s career has been in Audit/Risk Management, first with PwC and now with UKG. Liana has supported and loved The Wish Project for many years since she first volunteered in 2010. The organization became more important to her when she became a mother and understood how much support a parent requires for basic needs. Liana finds it fulfilling to see the joy in clients’ and volunteers’ faces, and finds the energy she feels when volunteering to be mesmerizing.
Elizabeth Kittredge | Vice President
Elizabeth is the founder of Kittredge Law P.C., an estate-planning firm located in North Chelmsford. Her family has supported The Wish Project for many years, and she became actively involved with Wish following a sponsorship of an event, which led to a tour of the warehouse. That tour showcased all the amazing projects Wish coordinates year-round. The energy of the staff and volunteers was beyond welcoming. Elizabeth now volunteers weekly with The Wish Project and enjoys being part of such an outstanding organization and team of individuals serving its clients.
Nicholas Stellakis | Secretary
Nick is an attorney at Hunton Andrews Kurth in Boston. He joined The Wish Project Board in 2016. As leader of his office’s pro bono practice, Nick has always been committed to securing justice and equity for all individuals regardless of financial ability. The organization’s mission and deep roots in the community attracted Nick to The Wish Project.
Steve Athans | Treasurer
Steve is the Associate Vice Chancellor of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at UMass Lowell, where he leads the university’s IT operations and campus-wide technology strategy. He has been working in information technology in the Lowell area for almost 30 years. Steve has previously served on other national nonprofit boards, but is excited about focusing his efforts in our local community. Steve lives in Tyngsboro with his wife and two middle school-aged children. He is drawn to the Wish Project’s focus on sustainability, its commonsense solutions to community needs, and the positive impact it has on families in the Merrimack Valley. Steve is committed to helping strengthen the organization’s mission and service to the region.
Loraine Murtagh | Director
Born in Lowell, and a graduate of UMass/Boston, Loraine worked in State Government for 21 years—ten years in the administrations of four governors, and 11 years as Legislative Liaison for the Department of Attorney General. Since then, she has enjoyed a satisfying career in real estate. Actively involved with The Wish Project from its start, Loraine served as Board Chair for its first nine years.
Susan Smith | Director
Sue is a lifelong Lowell resident and worked for the Lowell Public Schools for 36 years, with many of those years as a student/family support specialist. In that role, she was fortunate to be able to assist displaced families in their quest to make their transitions as seamless as possible by connecting with local agencies and, most importantly, by getting the children into school quickly and without barriers. In this role she became familiar with The Wish Project and has been involved ever since as a Board member, volunteer, and cheerleader.
Jennifer Cooper | Director
Jen was born and raised in MA. She works on computer infrastructure for an e-commerce company. In 2024 Jen started volunteering at The Wish Project. She also was briefly on The Wish Project staff as a volunteer coordinator which gives her a unique perspective as a director. Her favorite part of The Wish Project is seeing the community support and the impact that it has on clients.
Amy Erickson | Director
Amy was born and raised in Tewksbury and has built a 30-year career with Lowell Five Bank. She began her tenure as a Teller and currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Retail Administration. Rob Michael | Director
Rob Michael left a career heading the Information Technology function in the Biotechnology industry in 2012. He was then a co-owner of a sailboat rig manufacturing company until 2020 when he retired. He is a weekly volunteer at The Wish Project as well as a Board member. Helping to get household items from those that have them to those that need them is highly motivating and the primary driver of his wanting to work with TWP. The additional benefit of getting more useful life out of household and personal items thereby reducing waste is important to him too.
Kate Larsen | Director

She has been with PwC for over 14 years, and has focused her time and attention to helping solve the critical needs of her clients, while also spending time on corporate outreach efforts internally. Kate joined The Wish Project in 2023 after hearing about their mission and its impact on the broader Boston community. As a new mom in 2021, she understands how challenging it is to raise a family, and being fortunate enough to have a support system around her, wanted to help other families feel the same sense of support that she has had.

Born in New York, he moved to Massachusetts 23 years ago, and has been living in the Lowell area for the last 8 years. The Wish Project’s outstanding reputation, generous work, and positive impact throughout the greater Lowell area is what has drawn him to want to serve on their board of directors.
